Ir. Dr. Zhiheng Zhao is currently a Research Assistant Professor and Director of the Industrialized Construction Joint Lab at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to joining PolyU, he was an Associate Professor at Nanjing University of Posts & Telecommunications and a Post-Doctoral Fellow at The University of Hong Kong. He received his Ph.D. degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2017. Dr. Zhao’s main research interests include industrial spatial-temporal intelligence, digital twins, smart manufacturing and logistics, and construction metaverse. He has served as a Senior Member of IEEE, member of IISE, and ASME, as well as a founding committee member of the Youth Scholar Committee on Digital Twins (China) and a Council Member of the Manufacturing Informatization Division of the Guangdong Mechanical Engineering Society. He has been selected for the Jiangsu Province Dual Innovation Talent Program and the HKSAR Cyberport Incubation Program. Dr. Zhao has published over 50 academic papers and has been the Principal Investigator of multiple research projects, including those funded by the NSFC, ITF, NSF-Guangdong, NSF-Jiangsu, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, and State Key Laboratory, with a total research funding exceeding HKD 15 million. Additionally, his research has been successfully applied in the industrial sector, securing over HKD 15 million in collaborative research projects.
